I've played the demo a bit and the core of the game is obviously built from the Realmz engine. Essentially the graphics and interface have been modified to work for the sci-fi basis of this game. The Psionic abilities of some characters are handled just like the spell system from Realmz and stats are essentially the same with different labels. One new thing is that when you finish combat you gain exp points to spend on your stats, including individual to hit rolls and any other percentages or skills you'd like to modify. That adds a level of character modification on a par with that seen in games like Diablo 2.
The introduction of a mind boggling array of weaponry with the capacity for each firearm type to be loaded with different kinds of ammo adds a level of complexity not in Realmz. Every character can essentially wield a missle weapon of some sort now, so melee weapons would seem to be a little less important in combat, and explosive missle weapons like grenade launchers give more destructive powers to non "mage" characters. Happily this means new strategies will need to be developed for combat no doubt.
There are also some new skill types including some that allow character to take control of enemy mechanical units. Overall, from what little I've seen, the game takes all that fans enjoyed of Realmz and adds some neat new features. It looks like it's going to be an enjoyable game.
