I beat Riven the other day, but there are still some things that bug me. On the Island with the Village, what does the Kiln thing up by where the submarine origianaly was do? And is there any way to sneak past the gaurds to the village? I thought for sure taht there had to be because there is that door that you can knock on and there is also that platform that looks like it would lead to other houses if those boards weren't pulled back. Well, those were just the major things that bug me. I can't think of all the others right now.

Don't take this to me I didn't thoroughly enjoy the game. It may quite possibly be the best game I have ever played. I'm going to start on Exile after my school schedule settles down a bit. thanks for the help.

Kiln thing? Are you referring to that meat-cooker?

And no, there's no way to move the boards to gain access to the rest of the village, i'm quite sure.

It's what they call a toy. If you played Myst, there were billions of 'em. Those thingies that light up if you mouseover in Achenar's room in Mechanical, for example. No purpose, but it looks durned cool.

I remember thinking after 5 minutes of playing Riven: "hey, this is exactly like Myst, only dumber. And Myst was pretty dumb." That's when I stopped playing.

I don't care what anyone says, Myst, Riven, and Myst III: Exile are all some of the coolest games ever. The only problem I have with Exile is that it takes suchfreaking huge amounts of memory and processing power. That, and it doesn't explain how you got back, considering you go home at the end of Riven.

Yeah, Exile is a little large but it runs great on a iMac with the graphics card. You get back because you still have the Myst book back on Earth (The one that fell through the Fissure). I am going to disregard that one comment because I understand that some people just don't enjoy these kinds of games. I personally love puzzles and mysteries, etc. So I really like Riven, Exile, and Myst. There's my two cents.

Actually, you are wong. You never get back home... at least you are not supposed to. Myst and Riven are what is called a paradox, something that leads to the other, and back. In the begining of Myst, you are falling from space, and grab onto a book, and are teleported to Myst, correct? Then, when you beat Riven, you fall into a rip of space (or whatever), and you see a book, the myst book. Red Orb, the creators of Myst and Riven, explained this at there website... There was never suposed to be a myst 3, that is, until MS bought the rights from Red Orb. MS screws everything up....

Good point, Person. My brother hates the games and cannot comprehend how I can spend hours on a game where you solve puzzles can't see something die immediately. By the way, I'm playing Exile on a 6 year old Performa. I've upgraded it to a 266 G3 and 2 GB , but it still has a 2x CD drive and less than 60 MB RAM.

Thank you, Vader, for the explanation. How do you get from the rift to Atrus's new home, though? Didn't he write a special age for it, separate from Releshahan? Also, do you ever get back to Earth? Of course, I haven't gotten very far in Exile yet. (I'm still trying to figure out how to get to that guy in the house on top of the center pillar in the first world.)

Exile really does take a lot of power. It becomes choppy every time you move the hand over a complicated graphic. I love the 360 panorama interface, though.

How far have you gotten in J'nanin (that age) yet? Do you want a hint?
