Earlier this evening, on open Battle.net, I accidentally joined a game with some sort of mod active. My inventory was pretty full, but when I picked a large item up, rather than having my character say that he can't carry more or whatever, the item was placed so that part of it appeared to stick out of the bottom of my inventory.
I could not get rid of this item by dropping it or selling it to any of the local vendors, because I couldn't select it. This has corrupted my character file, and now I cannot join any games, single- or multi-player.
What I would like to know is whether there is any way to fix a corrupted character file. I have been working on this character for quite a while, and if I have to start over with a new one I will be quite annoyed. Thanks in advance for any help any of you can give.

I've heard of this problem before...
My friend just stopped using the character, it wasn't all that advanced anyway.

ooh, that sucks....
ask a Blizzard Rep. or something. They may be able to help you.

I wouldn't bother too much with Blizzard. They'll tell you the same thing as Ironhorse but it will take them 4 weeks. But it's worth a try. You'll most likely havee to delete the character.

You don't have to delete your character.
Fixing it up will involve some "cheating" however. Go download a character editor (with an inventory editor thing).... open up your char, and select the item that's off the screen (it'll show up in the inventory editor). You can just delete the item from there.

That would be the plan, Flatty, if I were using Windows. However, there are no inventory editors that I know of that work for the Mac. Know where I could find one?

Nope. If you email me your character, I'll transfer it to dad's PC and do some work on it.
