Full Version: EVNet and EV Space Movement Calculations

I am making a game which has some things that are similar to ev... How do i calculate where a ship will move to if it has fired the rocket in a different direction from the current moving direction(that probably doesn't make sense) an example is : a ship is moving along in a direction in space, it then turns(still going in the same direction because this is space remember)then fires the rocket; how would i calculate where it would move to if i knew its x,y,direction its going in, direction its facing and speed? Please help. Slightly of the subject, the game is going to be a game practically the same as ev but with networking. I am making it because everyone seems to want it in all the faq's etc... It will also work on PC's. I am also looking for any support in making the game. If you would like to help contact me at : corun@mac.com. 'EVNet' as I am calling it will not support plugins. I am planning on making the game then asking permission from ambrosia to release it as shareware with ambrosia. The first version will be based around the original EV and the first version will probably be a lan version. DO NOT contact me asking to beta test as i have barely started on the project yet(as you can tell by the question that i am asking). Only contact me for IMPORTANT things, I have enough spam as it is. Thanks for your help.
