Full Version: Otto Matic: Run or Fun?

Mistwolf
How is this game? I was worried that Apple wouldn't have a sweet (well, almost sweet at least) 3D game to come packaged in OSX, and when I heard about this, I said to myself, "Ah, good." But is the game itself good? I haven't even figured out what genre it is! So, run away, or have fun all day?

PS: Wow, all that rhyming and no prep time! I am on a roll today!

It's made by Pangaea Soft isn't it? I was unimpressed with Nanosaur, Bugdom, and CroMag Rally; the three seemd more like throw-away games than a testament to the Macs gaming power. I don't see why Otto Matic should be any better.

Have you seen me?

Yeah, I agree that Bugdom and the others sucked, but at least they used some cool particles and 3Dness, but I hope Otto would be better... has ANYONE played it?

I haven't tried it because I figured it would be like all Pangea's games. Pretty and stylish, but not fun. The control always sucks donkey testicles and the level design and "gameplay" is just awful.

Wow. Positive feedback. No one has even played it! Do we have a genre?

I've played it. Fun (at least I like it) but the engine seems to be almost the same as Bugdom. [tab] makes the camera go behind Otto.. that's cool.

I would put it in the FPS genre.
It nearly exactly like bugdom, but with better graphics and touchier controlls.
You can find a demo of Otto Matic in the max os x downloads section of the apple website.(don't worry its a carbon app, it will work under 9.1)
<Edit: Yes, i have played it.>

It's time for a new challenge.

Yes I have played it on the new iMac It was pretty much the same as any other pangea software, but it is more similar to nanosaur than bugdom so I would say that it is action game

My flat panel iMac just came today, and I was playing Otto Matic earlier today for a little while. The game itself is much like bugdom, but with a wierd 50's alien movie theme. I didn't really like it that much. One can only battle so many mutant tomatos before hhe becomes bored
