I just started the Metroid game that I have and am kind of stuck. I've gotten to the yellow doors, but can't seem to open them with anything I have. What do I still need to get?

To elucidate what Wyvern said, you need to go back to the entrance of Crateria, and use the morphing ball to enter a small passage. There you can find the bombs.

I've nearly finished SM...Ridley is a hard bastard though...especially after that Chorizo thing that attacks you before you get to him...

All I've got is the missiles x15 and the green super missiles or whatever they are. and neither do anything to it. There is one area that on the map has a dot but I can't reach it. Gggggrrrrrr!!!!!!

yeah, Ridley's a bastard... use fully charged plasma beams, does more damage than super missiles.

You need to get the power bombs from somewhere (can't remember where)...you place them like you place a normal bomb - in ball form. They blow....

...things up.

Planet_Buster: Yeah, took him out, now I'm stuck searching for all the powerups so I can open a can on Mother Brain. At the moment I'm in Maridia in one of the hidden areas you access through the quicksand. I'm trying to get to this bit of the screen with a Energy Tank and some sort of special do-hickey (the spring ball I think, might be a reserve tank though) but the only way into it is to bomb jump up into this little passage, but the ground under me keeps dropping away. The closest I've got is to spin jump continuosly (hovering) and try and transform into a ball and roll into the opening before I hit the ground. It's pretty impossible - any ideas?

I always thought that power bombs worked best against Ridley, the added advantage being that you take less damage in the morphing ball. Having the spring ball is very useful against Ridley.

Its been ages since I played Super Metoid... hehe, guess I'll have to dust off the old SNES again... I love that game. Took me 28 hours to complete the first time, at least 12 of those working out how to get to Draygoon - damn that powerbomb in the glass tunnel. Oh, and Ridley is the toughest single adversary in the game. But great fun.

Necro: you dont have the spring ball yet but you beat Ridley and Dragoon?? i dont even begin to fathom how you might have done that...
the spring ball is off in a little side area of Maridia where you need it to get out. i forget exactly where, but if you really need help, you can get a world map of the super metroid world at www.gamefaqs.com .
anyone else here know the easy way to beat Dragoon? its quite a shock, eh?

I miss the hard mother brain from the NES game, when super powered in super Metroid, you lay waste to all in no time. The only pain I had was getting off the planet.
Mother brain... now that brings me back to the day when there was a cartoon with mother brain and other super nintendo characters, I wonder what the hell it was called.

Ok I've now found a new spot on my map with alittle bug faced thing at the end of the passage but my guy won't go that far because of the division walls. I found one little blow up thingy that looks like a spinal cord with a oblong balloon in the middle of it, but nothing I have will destroy it. I've tried bombs, missiles, super missiles, and my charge beam but nothing works. Help!

I now have the varial suit but just before this room woth the big fat ugly guy there is a room with a power recharge and a red missile access thing but I can't access them. What's going on?

I have three energy tanks and am at 99 energy with full on twenty- five missiles think. Something happened to my game and the file got deleted so I have to start over. Oh well!
