We (or rather I) need some MW2 fanatics to play against. I say we start a little IRC group somewhat like what they did with Exobattle. Then hop on GR and play 8 on 8 and team battles.
Its realy easy, I myself already have the MW2 CD, and others that don't want to buy it just have to download NetMech (14mb) at http://www.GameRanger.com/download/game/Ne...chInstaller.bin and connect to someone that has the CD.
Easy, and fun.

If you can customize mechs im in, I play the battle tech tabeltop system, so this should be "interesting"

You can only customize mechs with the full game, but I do think you can take custom mech files from the MW2 preference folder and use them with someone with only NetMech.

The MW2 CD is around here somewhere, but I only know that the install never worked, and I've never actually played the game. I do wonder what type of game it is. I remember reviews from years ago saying that the game's pace is not that of an action game, but of a tactical one.

Kinda like a flight sim.... but with giant running 4 story mechs.
In the one player missions, you take out tactical targets and perform specific tasks.
In multi player, you try to be the last one left alive, or in team play do thinks like protect your base as you take out the others team.

Hello,

ive completed MW4 (for the PC in the corner of the basement, yuck *spit* *spit*), in under a day, hehehehehehe MCmk2s costomised with the darkstar outfit is the most powerfull mech i have ever played with!! (if used properly in cityfight/snowy situations).
And never underestamate powering down manualy, it stops all oposing mechs from seeing you, alowing you to spring ambushes easily, or hide when your sniping spot has been located, also if your using the right camoflage then even human players will find it hard to spot you.

Is the download for macs?

Unfortunately MW 4 never made it to Mac.
MW 2 was the last one for Mac.
Netmech for MW 2 is for Mac, and its download link is in the first post.

I hear that, the installer pissed me right the **** off and so I never really did play it too much. Might hunt it down soon and see if its behaving yet.

Will it work under classic? I doubt it, but before I start searching for my disc, I just want to know...

Actually it does, most old games tend to work under classic, oddly enough.

Well, I love the game, but I usually only get a 31k connection - if that's enough, then I could probably do it.

And are we talking clan or mercenary?
