Poll:
Are video games too graphic oriented these days?

luck is beating the odds, bad luck is when they are the odds of having something bad happen to you.

Not really. I find that games that have good story, gameplay, etc. usually have good graphics anyway. If a game is lousy it is usually not because the developers spent too much time on pretty graphics.

In some ways, yes. I find that people feel the need for good graphics to make a game good. I mean, I have friends who would never consider playing classic FF games(my favorites) because they consider them inferior to the current standard of games. It doesn't matter how the game looks, only how it plays.

I think people look at the graphics first but if the gameplay is bad..... or bad storyline ...they may not play it much.....I thought CanonSpike for Dreamcast was going to be cool but it has little replay value plus I can beat all the levels in half an hour...

yes, kinda. I'm not a big fan of special effects type things either, like movies or scenes you cannot escape. I especially hate the way some games lead into a fight scene, a total waste of time if i cannot view it once and turn it off.

Graphics seriously enhance a game, but one need only to play classic NES, SNES, Genesis, and Gameboy games to realize how much graphics are overrated. Just the other day, I was playing Rolan's Quest 2 on my Gameboy (one of the greatest Action-RPG's of all time), and yes, it has horrible graphics. But, who cares when the gameplay is amazing? I have a friend who refuses to play older games because they have inferior graphics and aren't realistic enough. How narrow-minded can you get?
