Shoot me for being a flake, but I can't recall the SquareSoft RPG Terranigma ever being released in the US. Was it released here, or was it just in other countries? The first time I heard about the game was on emulation recently. Great game, I might add. Anyway, I followed RPG's very closely at the time, and I can't recall it's release. Does anyone know? If it was released here, it was most likely at the end of the SNES, when games being released were overshadowed by the newer systems. Just can't remember.

Yea, Terranigma was never released in the US. It was, however, released in Japan, Britian, Spain, and even Australia. At the time, Enix had little intrest in North American gamers. Also, in 1995, it seemed that the popularity of the snes was not that impressive over here. I think it is a good game, though I never played it on the SNES, just through emulation. If you really want to, there is a version in english, so you could get a PAL snes and import it or something.

Wonderful game. I'd just like to point out that it was an Enix RPG, not Square.

Oh, my mistake, that's right. I meant Enix.

I also heard it was a sequel of sorts to the other Enix SNES RPG's SoulBlazer and Illusion of Gaia. Some of the best games weren't released in the US! Take for example this and Seiken Densetsu 3, one of the prettiest RPG's I've seen and certaintly the best gameplay.

What, do they think we in the US aren't smart enough to handle a decent RPG? Heh, scratch that, I know we aren't. Good thing I'm half british.
