I just recently re-installed the excellent RPG Fallout, and it ran well, except for a coupe of errors that the Updater was supposed to fix. The problem is, after I update it to version 1.1, whenever I save I get an error message and the game quits. Anyone know of anything I can do?

Is this the new OS X version, or the older OS 9 one?

The 9 one....well, I believe it's actually for system 7 or eight, but its the earlier one. I wasn't aware there was a 10 patch available.

Fallout 2 has also finally made it to the Mac too - OS X only.

I picked them both up at Macworld NY where they were on pre-release sale... for free...

As for your problem, as I recall when I used to be stuck on the old version - I think the save game are incompatible after the patch. Try trashing yoursaved games (gasp!), and trying from there. Or get the New OS X version what includes the patches.

Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 for free? ERR...now I'm jealous. Tell me though, how does the second one stack up? The first one was great, albeit a bit easy, I wish it was a bit longer and a little more open ended though.

Oh yeah, and thanks for the help with the patch, I didn't want to have to trash my old games, I guess I'll just have to start the game over if I want to use the patch.

Oh yeah-best rpg I've ever played.
