What happens when you cross the horror factor of Resident Evil, the RPG element of Diablo 2, the suspense and mystery found in Stephen King books, and the historical accuracy of a world history textbook? You get Eternal Darkness, the new psychological thriller for the Gamecube. I bought this game yesterday, and it is simply incredible.

Without giving too much away, the main character is Alex Roivas, a girl in her early twenties. She receives a phone call from the police about the brutal and mysterious murder of her grandfather, who lives alone in the Roivas Mansion in Rhode Island. What happens from there on is beyond her wildest dreams...

You play more than 12 characters in the game, and the game spans two milleniums. Each character has some connection to the Ancients (I dont want to give away too much about who the Ancients are...). The story is *very* deep, and you'll become immersed in the story very quickly.

A great feature of the game is the "Sanity Meter." As the meter goes down, freaky stuff will happen. You won't know if what is happening in the game is real or just hallucinations if your Sanity is low. Believe me...some of the insanity effects will make you go "what the ****?!" I don't want to give away the insanity effects, 'cause they're best experienced first-hand.

In conclusion, if anyone enjoys psychological thrillers and you own a Gamecube, this is a must-have. I *highly* recommend it to anyone. Definitely a 10 out of 10.

Man, that game is so messed up...I love it! Finally a game that lives up to it's hype, and really makes you question what is real and what is all in your head. If you play that game for too long you fo start to question if you're seeing/hearing things or not, it's crazy. And each of he characters (I've seen up to act 6) seem to be interesting and have an good storyline of their own, their isn't really any "fluff" thrown in. Defineatley one of the best games I've ever played.

/me drags this topic out of the Pit of Evil Things.

Wow.

Again...

WOW.

I just beat it, and I can, in all honesty say that it is the greatest game I have ever played. The storyline is deep and involving, the characters are realistic and interesting, the whole sort of mythological feel is excellent, the battle system is beautiful, the boss fights are incredibly fun, the music is superb... Everything about this game kicks unbelievably much ass! I can't wait to beat all of the threads...

Hmmm, Ponder. Should I get this game? Let me ask you one thing is it horribly violent and does it make you think?
