The best mac emultion site out there. I think there are some higher end emulators that are shareware or needs to be bought directly from the company. They just give you a link. But if there was an emulator ever made for a mac, it is on this site.

*edit* The nintendo/ genesis generation emulators are all free I think.

Please refrain from posting links to sites which carry ROM files on this forum. This is a gray area at best from a legal standpoint.

Yeah but the creator of super mario (can't remeber his name) said that he was honored that people still play his old games. I know that there is a site for old atari roms (legal)

no it isnt! roms are impossible to find, all i ever get is links to the "top 100 rom sites" page, the majority of the pages there just lead back there, it blows!!!! <snip> used to be a friggin awesome rom site, but its gone now and <snip> worked a couple times for me but now i get connection errors whenever i try to download. if anyone knows a good SNES rom site please email me at mailto:jwhitney@wnec.edujwhitney@wnec.edu . thanks!

Don't go to school to learn that 2+2=4. If you do you're missing the point. Go to school to learn how to add, then figure out that 2+2=4.

there are plenty out there, you just have to look in the right place...I support roms...but..you know..only if you actually own the game or have owned it in the past.

Check out Basilisk. It works with all 68k-compatible Ambrosia games, including EV Nova (although with EVN it runs rather slowly...).

Only problem is obtaining a ROM. I myself have an old 68k Mac, so I don't have those issues about, well, you get the idea.

There is a well-known rom website (I won't reveal the name, but it involves a fruit) that apparently was given a list of ROMs by the IDSA that they weren't allowed to have avaliable.
QUOTE
"The IDSA (Interactive Digital Software Association) is an association that protects the intellectual property of video and computer games companies, among other things (like shutting down ROMs sites). They were kind enough to send us a list of games that they don't feel comfortable with us having them for download. Thus, we blocked those ROMs from being downloaded for self-protection."

I don't know if this means the remaining ROMs are legal to download, but if they didn't explicitly say they could not, then it should be legal. But who knows.

I hate gray areas.

Close. You forgot the i in Miyamoto.
And He's been behind some of the greatest games of all time. I believe he is also behing the Zelda for the Gamecube, and from what I've seen, it looks pretty spiffy. (I was originally miffed at the fact that it's cel-shaded, but after seeing some screens, I'm amazed! It seriously looks like a cartoon, which is what Zelda has been trying for all these years. I can't wait to get it.)
