Heheheh, I remember this. This game must have been a big flop, it doesn't have a web board, and seems to get little/no attention as a game.

I used to like playing that game on my old performa, what happened to it? And just out of curiousity, how many copies did it sell? Seems like it isn't getting much attention, despite the fact that it's an ASW game

Download it, and see what I mean!

1. Does Maelstrom have a board, no, Chiral, no, Apeiron, no, Swoop, no, Barrack, no, Bubble Trouble, no, Mars Rising, no, Slithereens, no, Deimos Rising, no. Most arcade games don't. Because theres realy not much to talk about.
2. Its still there, its still downloadable. Its still a game.
3. ASW private info.
4. Seems like you don't hear a ton about alot of there old arcade games now-a-days.

Harry is a total classic, and one of the very few truly innovative games out there! It's also bundled with almost every Mac Book that has a CD that's been released the past several years. I have downloaded it, and I have played it... and I loved it. It's also hysterically funny. I think I loved derailing the message boys the most....

I never did get the whole game, but I'm sure I shall some day. I plan to get Ferazel here pretty quick, and I'm working my way through the list of Ambrosia games I want to play. Avara and Harry are next.

It wasn't a flop. It's not played much nowadays because of newer games. When it was released, I'm sure it was a major success.

Even after God-knows how many years it's been since I got it, I still aspire to register it.

I should get back to that game. It's so much fun hearing Harry say "Yeah, biatch!" and "Eat staple, electrode breath!"

Harry is one of my most favorite games that ambrosia ever released, along with swoop, bubble trouble, and<insert latest incarnation of EV here>. and im not sure i would really consider Harry an arcade game, cuz all the levels are totally different and whatnot... id probably say its just an action game.

Don't go to school to learn that 2+2=4. If you do you're missing the point. Go to school to learn how to add, then figure out that 2+2=4.

Yeah, Harry was very expandable -- heck, it came with a level editor. It's really a shame more people haven't taken enough interest in it to create a web board or a significant number of add-ons (as in the case of the EV's). I guess that goes to show that a built-in level editor doesn't necessarily drive more people to make add-ons...or maybe I'm just blabbering over here.

The problem with Harry is that the level editor is about all the expandibility it has. You can create new maps with new background graphics, and, well, that's about it. There's no functionality for adding or editing enemy types, changing sprite graphics, or altering the properties of the items built into the game.

You can do nifty things with a few levels by messing around with the physics (mmm, no friction...), but such things get old after only a few levels, and then what do you do?

I really really enjoyed Harry, and tried on several occasions to create my own levels, but ultimately found that it just plain wasn't flexible enough for me. (Too bad - that "Harry goes skydiving" level would have been really cool if it worked just a little bit better... )

Harry and Swoop are some of my favorite classic arcade games. I keep having Office Space flashbacks when I play Harry.

Hehe, Harry, yes, it is a fun game.
Btw, ever tried the "wavygravy" easter egg in it? I don't remember how to activate it, either you press enter, type wavygravy and enter again, or simply type wavygravy... Try it, it is cool

Harry is a fun game, unlike some arcade games.

This is off topic, but has anyone played Cythera lately? I downloaded it and played for about 30 minutes, then stopped playing it because I hated it! It's just too simple and boring compared to PoG. Anyone else think the same thing? The only thing in it that is better is the ability to choose between Male and Female.

It is completely off-topic, but comparing Cythera and PoG is a bit unfair to both of them, as they're very different games. Cythera is more of a "classic" Ultima/Realmz-style RPG - turn-based combat, tiled maps, character parties, etc - while PoG is a more modern Diablo-style "RPG". Both are a lot of fun in my opinion, though both also have very limited replay value, unfortunately. (Much like Harry in that regard...)

I still play both Cythera and Pillars religiously, and don't like one more than the other.
