Since Warcraft three was released for both Windows and Mac (thank you blizzard) I was wondering if anyone here was interested in starting a Warcraft 3 clan. I'll be starting the clan in anywhere from a few days to a few weeks depending on how many names i get. Also, even if you don't want to join the clan, put your battle.net name up so I can search for you when I play.

If this topic should be on Just Games instead of this forum go right ahead and move it.

I am very good at pevious blizzard games (warcraft 2, starcraft) and good at Warcraft 3. I got it only 4 days ago so i'm a little inexperienced but I do have a 5 - 2 record and one of those losses was because my teammate abandoned me.

i have three different names in three different clans, but im making another name soon so i could join under that name. btw, do any of you know anything about when blizz is putting in their clan feature on battle.net? on the blizz forums marn just said "more information will be revealed in the future". that is typical of blizz in that it tells me nothing. the reason i ask is that no one will know youre in a clan until they put that feature in, cuz you wont have the clan tag on your name(as i understand it part of the feature is that it puts the tag on the front of your name). anyway, whatever, what will this clan be called, what realm will it be in, and what will the tag be?

Don't make a clan leader please, or any sort of hierarchy, just let this be a group of people who play with each other as teammates often. I also hope that [asw] isn't required in the name.

well, you wouldnt have to make a new acct and put it in the name, but once they get the clan feature into bnet, one of us needs to make the clan and all of us in it will have the tag [ASW] added on to our names.
i agree that we shouldnt have a leader or hierarchy or anything like that. thats only for really serious organized clans and stuff like that.
my record(total from all of my accts put together) is 20-19, and the majority of my losses are from shaft games--once you hit level 5 its like hitting a brick wall; you barely ever get pitted against someone whos close to your level, you only play against level 9, 10, 11 people and it really sucks ass. i dont want to play someone whos 42-3 when im 12-8, dammit! blizzard needs to fix that, its really annoying.

[ASW] Well first we got one problem, 4 actually we need a clan leader for each realm since battle.net won't let everyone play on all gateways. Atleast it hasn't worked well for me

Whoever organises the website will be pretty much organising the whole thing. I envision that it's purpose should be to provide us with match fixing dates and so forth so we can actually play a game (speaking of that I'm on b.net right now and will be for the next 2 hours, US East.)

Perhaps a less race sensitive introduction .

I think the site could use a modification to the news area. I don't know what you're plans are for this but how about allowing members of the clan to post their own 'news' items. Not only can we share time matchups, but we could coordinate tournaments, post replays, and also have some debates assuming you could wire comments to the news items.

On b.net, I think the clan channel should be either asw or ev3. Any votes on this?

We could have a chat channel, where anyone can go looking for matches or clan tourny meetings or whatever. It would be on IRC on the ambrosia server. If anyone else likes this idea, suggest a name for the channel, like asw or war3.

Open up date and time, if you have Mac os X then it is very easy to see what time it currently is, by shifting the world-cursor. Of course it's then simple maths to find out what it would be where you are. In previous version I think you can simply change your location and the time changes. Obviously though, this requires the original time to be correct, something which wasn't the case here.

Did anyone come?
