Does anyone here still play Aliens versus Predator(or the demo) on GameRanger? I ask because it seems as though there's just newbies and uber-oldbies there, and I'm getting fairly desperate for a decent game(AND I can't host). Also, it'd be interesting to find out that one of my arch-nemeses(or someone else I know, of course, but given my number of nemeses...) is someone from these boards .

Great single player, but the multiplayer is ALWAYS choppy, which is bad for a shooter.

Actually, I've got the full game, but my CD drive is busted to the point of where if I try to play the full game with the CD in there, it locks up. Not fun.

I'm in the US, while you're in France; that accounts for some of the time difference. Also, when I'm at work (which is all day, except for today, as I have the day off), I'm in front of my computer and surf the boards a lot.

Heh, I have a social life... well, kind of... bleh.

Seriously, though, the time a moderator devotes to being a moderator depends entirely on how serious they take their job. I take mine very seriously, and as a result I police several boards (I check 15 boards daily) on a regular basis.

Whenever I host the game (which, apparently, no one can join), I turn off the Disc and the Flamethrower.

Yeh... I disable disc, smartgun, skeeter, proxies, and pred pistol. When I can host, which isn't often - I have to connect through a gateway because soneone decided that having all the computers online was a good idea. I don't mind flamethrower - I'm usually an alien, and sufficiently fast that I can usually avoid it... or when I'm a pred, I stay well out of range.

One word of advice: GET THE DEMO FIRST

(and I mean multiplayer, not single!)

In my own oh-so-humble opinion, the multiplayer flat-out sucks. I've got a list of complaints on the other computer, but I'm too lazy to go get it.
