With all these parents complaining about Violence in video games. I just thought of something Video games are only as violent as you the player make them. For example the objective in the GTA series is not to run around and kill ever dam* person out there in fact you can go through the whole game without killing a civilain. ( it would be hard though). Just your comments.

Sorry, I'm all for violent video games but this logic doesn't follow through. Think it's possible to not kill someone in Unreal Tournament, or Sniper Scope?

Some games are just designed with violent content. If the parents don't want their children to see it then they should be responsible for their children. I have yet to hear of a child killing solely because they played a video game.

Anyone who takes the life of someone else had something wrong to begin with. It wasn't the video games that caused it.

Another point i forgot to make Is that the people who are accusing video game violence think that these games only sell really well because of there violent content. WRONGO maybe these " violent games" have good game play and are actually good. I didnt mean to start a huge argument about violence in games just had to get something off my chest.

Mortal Kombat 3 (dunno about the others) had an option to turn off the blood, which I agree with; however, parents actually being parents, rather than forcing game makers to change how they make games, would be much more effective.

I agree with EVula, if the parents don't want their children playing violent games then they should stop them from playing them not sue the company for making them. The same should go for movies and other forms of entertainment. I believe that in a democracy people should have the right to these forms of entertainment, it's part of our rights as citizens. As for video games being blamed for violent children I say this, the children that commit these acts are obviously disturbed and video games probably played no part in any violent acts they commited. It's more likely to be social pressure.

But... If you took the blood out of a mortal combat game, there wouldn't be any game left...

violent games lets you be rid of all the angst the people have built up over time. Sometimes you just gotta kill everything in sight, and video games are an outlet for that.

There are also the cool video games that, although they are sort of based on violence, aren't really violent. Such as Tekken.
