Actually, from my experience as an internet junkie, I've seen that girls don't go for messages boards so much. They tend to stick to real time keyboard pounding. However, I would guess that subject material has a lot to do with it. 8 out ot 10 web boards are very geeky in subject matter.

As for forge, I can only think if a certain movie that pits three or four of these Sydney types in a bus through the center of Australia. But I think they all were in their thirties.

It makes sense if you think about it. A lot of people, myself included, were in their early to mid teens when the original EV was released. This is a game five years in the making, so all of us that remember when the original was released are just as anxious about Nova, and our posting here reflects that.
