I'm happy with wiretap pro and find it a good application for me who prefers Macs!!

but what do I recommend to my colleagues using windows XP?

how should they record streaming audio? (besides switching to macs
;-) )

any suggestions are welcome.

Take a Microphone.
Put it in front of the External Speakers.
Open up the Recorder Thing.
Click Record every 60 seconds.

(Use the Capitalization your mother gave to you.)
The Real Darth Bob
Actually better than that,

take a line-level cable from your speaker out to your line-in

Total Recorder from High Criteria or maybe Replay Music from Applian Technology? Software to capture streaming audio was reviewed in the Nov. 30 2004 issue of PC Magazine.. Applian also appears to have streaming video capture software too (in case you also use Snapz Pro X and have envious colleagues).

thank you for the above information! I realize this is slightly off-topic for the ambrosia list!

does the built in windows XP sound recorder utility limit recording to a certain length? the one minute mentioned above? that would make using the cable (sound-out to sound-in) less of a solution.....

which I guess explains the software solutions offered ...
I'm a little surprised that there are no free solutions for windows.... (how about the windows version of audacity? would that work with the hard wired solution?)

Both of the programs mentioned below are more expensive than wiretap pro! and wiretap pro let's you record (with many fewer features) without having to pay.

anyway thanks for your input!
