AurOffshootFix 1.0 released 5/10/02 by Kanddak Removes the hideously annoying "no mission for cargo ships" flag from Auroran offshoot missions 1 1b and 2, enabling some more missions in the Auroran line for starbridge pilots, which you might otherwise miss completely (as unlike the "no mission for cargo ships" nuisance in the Polaris missions, the offshoots are not necessary to complete the game).

This plugin repairs an issue with the Auroran Cruiser and EV Nova for Windows.

This is the third of the "killer" Plug-ins for NOVA. Here you are put up against many Auroran ships. Are you capable of standing up against a giant fleet? I advise you to be expecting the worst if you want to use this. Note: They will only attack you if you attack tham or if you are an enemy. JoshTigerheart's Department of Useless Plugs is now bringing you the worst thing possible to ever hit the addons page: Awful Pilot Names. Thats right! You too can fly under a terrible alias and have foes tremble at your name that makes ears bleed! And, whats more, since I was only limited to three possible names for pilots, now many pers have been altered to have the new terrible names. As an old EV: Override veteran, I was overjoyed by EV: Nova. But there were some things that I missed about EVO, one of which was the best fighter in the game: the Adzara. It was unique be relying on shield regeneration rate rather than heavy shielding - it was very easy to get it's shields down to almost nothing, but let it out of your weapon's range for a few seconds and you'd be back to square one. This plug-in modifies the Lightning to fill this role - the shields are cut almost in half, but the regeneration rate is more than enough to make up for it, and I also included a Lightning Bay if you work for the Rebels. After playing the game a while, I didn't like how weak the Federation ships were, or how some of the stuff in the game was either priced out of practical use or just didn't do enough for it's costs. I hopped on resedit and tweaked away. I've used these setting for a while now, and some of my friends who have the game asked me to send it to them, so I thought I'd see if the rest of the evn comunity might wanna try my balance changes.

Has Nova become too easy for you, even in "Strict Play" mode? Do you obliterate every Capital ship in sight with your Class A Starbridge? Are you looking for more of a challenge with a larger reward? Then Balance may be just what you are looking for. Balance beefs up most ships (especially Capital ships) and prices them accordingly. It enhances weapon speed and accuracy (especially missiles), and modifies various government parameters (reward/penalty, skill multiplier and others). Balance is recommended for the seasoned player whose skill level is high and who may be getting a tad bored. Note: Both the Mac version and PC .rez files are included.

The universe has become even more treacherous. Capital ships now wield a great deal of power and their missiles are faster, longer in range, and carry more of a punch. As a counter to this threat, most ships have been improved as well. Balance 2.0 not only modifies ship and weapon attributes (these changes now include almost all the ships, including the Kestrel), it also alters government behavior, adjusts certain descriptions, and changes several outfit parameters. I want players to think twice before attacking a big Capital ship in a little Class A Starbridge or Thunderhead. There is now a real "balance" between the range of the railguns and the Hellhound/Gravimetric/EMP missiles (the player can no longer easily skip away and kill the enemy at a distance with complete safety). Balance 2.0 is recommended for the experienced player whose skill level is high and who may be getting a tad bored. Balance 2.0 is NOT recommended for the novice player (it will only frustrate you further). Both the Mac version and the PC .rez file are included.

The prices aren't low and the ton space required isn't low either, so in my opinion it's not cheating. The Fed Destroyer also now has a max of 4 turrets and the Fed Carrier disables at 10%. Adds the Banhammer - a secondary weapon that when fired at a target, will destroy all ships in the system besides self. (and also a disable-only version for those missions where you have to board the enemies) And adds bh shields to give you invincibility..... just because....
