Every sound has been replaced with a belch except one, and that one has been replaced with an angry dog sound. Don't ask, I don't know, it's very wacky.

Welcome to Heavy Metalstrom, that strange corner of the galaxy where old guitars and drums float aimlessly, accompanied by the loudest sounds you will ever hear!

"Finally, Star Wars Sprites for Maelstrom! Use the Millennium Falcon to Destroy asteroids, X-Wings, Imperial Shuttles, and the Death Star with a little help from Yoda and the droids, and a special appearance by Boba Fett."

These sounds require more memory to be alocated for Maelstrom. They are taken from a series in Japan called Akira. Many of then are fun and add an interesting dimension to the game.

These sounds were taken from several versions of "Ambitious" by Wire. They were sampled at 11.127kHz, 8 bits, mono. The idea is that, as the game is played, a dynamic mix of the song is created. Cool, huh?

Remember that really cool sci-fi show on TV back in the late '70s called "Battlestar Galactica"? Well I do, and this is a patch for Maelstrom that changes the sounds and some of the screens into Battlestar Galactica sounds and screens.

For the holiday season, here are some sprites for Maelstrom that will give you something to shoot for (or shoot at, anyway). Santa, presents, even tree ornaments are here for your holiday destruction.

This is an unusual set of sprites that takes a little getting used to. But they are very well done and fit the computer motif quite well. Download these and shoot your floppies.
