Snapz Pro X 2.5.0 is coming... and it's not merely a bug fix update for OS X 10.8 "Mountain Lion"! We've actually been furiously at work rewriting the product from scratch to take advantage of modern APIs, include compatibility for Retina displays, and have written new and improved video capture engine as well!
We're currently at the Final Candidate stage, so we're feeling good that it'll be released shortly. It will be a free update to existing Snapz Pro X 2.x customers, and requires OS X 10.7 "Lion" or 10.8 "Mountain Lion". So here's a little sneak peek!

Even though the interface looks familiar, the entire product has been rewritten from scratch... and some nice touches have been added as well, such as being able to choose additional "Save As..." destinations shortcuts!

Retina display support has been added, so you can capture hires 144dpi Retina images... and we even handle a mixture of Retina and non-Retina monitors with aplomb.

Object capture mode now supports grabbing multiple windows with full transparency, and you can control whether to include the drop shadow as well.

The rewritten video capture engine now captures properly time-scaled fixed rate movies, and you can capture video at one frames per second setting, and save the resulting video out with a different frames per second setting. We have added additional audio and video encoding settings as well.

We also have a new selection style that shows you the size of your selection with architect-style dimensions, and a new "fatbits" loupe for magnifying the screen to get just the right selection.
Snapz Pro X 2.5.0 is coming soon... we can't wait to release it to you!
Great!!!!!!!!
Now if we could also get WireTap Studio that would be great!
Thanks guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you, I am delighted to be able soon to download this version!
I was really starting to wonder if this favorite utility was not going to make a Mountain Lion debut! Glad to know it's on the way.. Please, get it out soon.. we've been deprived of audio for months!!
What a headache without full capabilities of SnapzProX.
Thnaks, look forward to it.
I was this close to buying a competitor's product just now. I decided to give one last search about support for retina displays. I really hope it comes out next week because I can't wait much longer and I won't look back if I switch.
Sounds like it will have been worth the wait though.
