Last week, some of the Ambrosia crew donned our (frequently used, we'll have you know!) athletic gear and hit the pavement for the Chase Corporate Challenge 2010. For us office-dwelling desk jockeys, any excuse to get outside can be a good excuse; charity events are a welcome bonus!
On June 3, according to the JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge website, more than 9,000 participants from 419 companies took part in the 5k race. Here at Ambrosia we, of course, had our team on a rigorous training schedule, which included pre-dawn wake ups, protein shakes, and weeks of strict calorie intake.
And by that, I mean we did nothing and ate cheesecake 20 minutes before the event. But, we cannot be held at fault for that little oversight! With the abundance of Gemini in the office comes an abundance of birthday treats-- right in time for swimsuit season. To eat the cake may have been unwise, but not eating it would have been darn near criminal!
In other news, our developers have once again made that transcontinental geek pilgrimage to the Moscone West, best known as WWDC. Checklists for said trip surely included little more than bundled cords and chargers, extra battery packs, and a few ironic t-shirts only those there for the conference would "get." Their giddiness about this event is rivaled only by our remaining staff's emotions toward Jake bringing in new beer to share each day this week.
Here's to hoping our devs return from San Francisco with something more tangible than a hangover and some new "Followers!"
