Perhaps its due to the fact that Ferris Beuler helped raise me, but the thought of taking a sick day for anything but rabble-rousing and debauchery just seems like a crying shame.
Sure, I've taken my personal days to battle real illness before, but calling in for a little cold sounds like possibly the worst idea ever! As a result of my admitted irrationality, I have spent the better part of this week sniffling, sneezing, and likely grating my coworkers nerves with a bit of upper respiratory unrest (cough! hack! I'm fine!!)

Armed with office-illness necessities such as tissues, hot tea, hand sanitizer, and Emergen-C, I have managed to fight off what seems to be the worst of it, without transferring the yuck to anyone else. Hopefully it will stay that way!
July is notable around here only for its lack of noteworthiness. Most of our staff take their vacations this month, so things tend to get unusually quiet. Construction-fueled road rages outside our windows have decreased as road work has moved up the street.
Even the office pets have toned it down mid-summer. I guess one could say its just business as usual!
