How do I play a networked game of Avara?

Last Updated Sep 15, 2005

To connect to an Avara Server running on an AppleTalk network, select one of the AppleTalk options from the Network menu and click on the "Connect to Server..." button in the Player window.

Avara does not look for games on your AppleTalk network, so you must either know the name of the machine you wish to connect to or browse through the listed machines to find one that is running Avara. When you find a computer that is running an Avara Server, click on OK to join the server.

If you wish to start your own Avara Server, select one of the AppleTalk options from the Network menu and click on the "Start Server..." button in the Player window. Your server is now running, and any Macintosh that is connected to your AppleTalk network can now join your game by following the instructions in the section above.

For complete instructions on networked games of Avara, go to Chapter 10, "Appletalk Avara" of the Avara Documentation.
