Can I give my Shortcuts a custom icon to help differentiate them?

You sure can.  Click on the Dragster icon in the Dock.  Select Preferences from the Dragster menu.  Click on Shortcuts.  Select the Shortcut and click on Edit.
Paste your custom icon into the icon field.
