How can I create a custom envelope size in EasyEnvelopes?

Last Updated Jul 25, 2008

  1.  Invoke Dashboard, and bring up the EasyEnvelopes widget, then click on the (i) button in the lower-right corner of the window to configure the widget.
  2. Click on the envelope icon labeled Change Envelope Size...
  3. From the Paper Size: popup menu, choose Manage Custom Sizes...
  4. Click on the + button in the lower-left corner of the Custom Page Sizes window, and a new custom paper sized named Untitled will be created.
  5. Name the custom paper size. The values entered in the Page Size field depend on the orientation of the envelope when printed.  If the envelope is printed in Portrait mode, then enter the width and the height in their appropriate fields.  However, if the envelope is printed in Landscape mode, the envelope is rotated, so enter the envelope's height in the Width field, and the width in the Height field.

The print mode affects the margins in the same way.  If the envelope is printed in Portrait mode, enter the values for the margins in their appropriate fields.  If the envelope is printed in Landscape mode, the values are rotated 90 degrees - so the envelope's left margin is entered into the Top field, the top margin is entered into the Right field, the right margin is entered into the Bottom field, and the bottom margin is entered into the Left field.

Click on the OK button to save the custom paper size.
  6. Next from the Page Setup window, choose the new custom paper size just created from the Paper Size: popup menu. Click on the OK button to save the settings.
  7. Flip the EasyEnvelopes widget back over by clicking on the Done button, find an address by searching for an address (EasyEnvelopes automatically uses the addresses in your AddressBook) or type one in manually, and click on the Print stamp icon.

The same technique can be used for any kind of custom envelope/label you choose. The key is making sure you adjust the Margins properly based on the rotated orientation of the envelope/label you're printing to.
