Of course Hector serves a purpose. Hector is there to remind you that Escape Velocity is a shareware product. You have 30 days to try Escape Velocity before registering. Hector keeps track of the days and can become a nuisance when the trial period expires. If you enjoy Escape Velocity, please take the time and register.
