How can I pause or abort a game?

The esc key pauses Escape Velocity while you are in the middle of a game, allowing you to take a breather or switch out to another application if you desire. To resume a game after you've paused it, simply click on the Enter Ship button.
To quit the program quickly, press command q. This will exit Escape Velocity and return you to the Finder.
