Why can't I convert some plug-ins on Windows 7?

Some filenames will cause the plug-in converter to fail. The eighth character in the file name can not be any of the following:

#+23;bcjkrsz[BCJKRSZ{

Please note that this includes the file extension. The workaround is to simply rename the file and try again. Many thanks to our forum members for figuring this one out!
