After syncing with iTunes all of my custom ringtones are gone - what can I do?

Last Updated Aug 31, 2007

While it should be rare, it's possible that iTunes may remove your ringtones after a sync or being connected to a computer.

  1. Unplug your iPhone if connected.
  2. Quit iTunes and iToner.
  3. Delete the "iTonerRingtones.plist" & "com.AmbrosiaSW.iToner.plist" files from your ~/Library/Preferences folder.
  4. Delete the "Ambrosia Ringtone Cache" folder from ~/Library/Application Support/ folder.
  5. Download and install the latest version of iToner.
  6. Launch iToner and test it out.

Please note that iToner must be installed on any computer your connect your iPhone to, even if just for charging. Using the demo version is sufficient.
