Is there a limit for the number of lives you are able to accumulate in Mars Rising?

You can have up to 12 lives, including the active life. You get a free life at the first 10,000 points, then 30,000 points, and then every 30,000 + 10,000 for each new ship, so each new ship is progressively harder to get.
