Why is the game so slow on the new iPad?

We are aware that mondo's performance on the new iPad (3rd generation) can be poor and sluggish at times. There are no immediate fixes in the works for this specific issue. We are considering a major upgrade to the iOS versions of mondo once some other major projects are finished up.
