Why does my purchase not show up as "installed" or "purchased" in the App Store?

Only purchases made in the App Store will be displayed under "Purchases" and consistently show as being installed.

If a product purchased directly from us has the same bundle ID and version number as what is available in the App store, it should say that it is already installed.
