DVD and other forms of hardware video are actually overlaid on top of the video signal your Macintosh sends to your monitor, so the DVD movies that you see on-screen are never actually on the screen as far as your Macintosh is concerned. This is why, for instance, you can be watching a DVD movie that appears to be in Millions of colors, while your monitor is set to only 256 colors.
Because the DVD movie never really appears on your Macintosh's screen, Snapz Pro cannot capture it. Although it may be possible for future versions of Snapz Pro to capture such images, the current version has the same limitation that all other screen capture programs have: screen captures of video from DVD movies will appear black.
