Why can't I select my Desktop icons in Object mode?

The Object mode can only capture items drawn as a window. As of Mac OS 10.6 (Snow Leopard), icons on your Desktop are no longer considered windows. As a result Snapz can not choose them in Object mode. Please use the Selection mode instead.
