Why can't I use my third-party video codecs?

Last Updated Apr 3, 2013

Apple made significant changes in the OS that crippled many third-party QuickTime video codecs. Snapz would try to load these components on launch, and if any of them failed, Snapz may not open at all. Since there is no way for us to validate these codecs, Snapz now ignores all third-party QuickTime video codecs to ensure proper operation. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
