Can WireTap Studio power up my computer for a scheduled recording?

It sure can.  Be sure the Automate startup/wakeup computer for scheduled sessions option is enabled in the general pane of the WireTap Studio preferences.

Then be sure your machine is set to Automatically login as <your_username> in the Login Options of the Accounts pane in the System Preferences.
