If I convert my hi quality recording to a lossy format, won't all of the original quality be lost forever?

So long as the Record Lossless Original option was checked in the saving pane of the WireTap Studio preferences when the recording was made, a lossless original at the same quality as the source audio will always be available for WireTap Studio to work with.
