Why are the ringtones I added disappearing?

You may have problems with your ringones if you are running iTunes in 64-bit mode (introduced in 10.4). WireTap Studio relies on an iTunes plug-in that will not load if iTunes is running in 64-bit mode. Without this plug-in, all of your ringtones to be lost when synced. To work around the issue:

  1. Quit iTunes and locate it in the Finder
  2. Select the application and press Command-I, or choose Get Info from the File menu
  3. Enable the Open in 32-bit mode checkbox
  4. Launch WireTap Studio, then iTunes. You should not see th error below or lose your ringontes when syncing.
