This office mom would like to take a moment and tell you how wonderful Snapz Pro is. I Love, Love, Love it. I use it all the time. I occasionally teach students illustration, I can take them through a project step by step. I help them build QuickTime portfolios, using a screen shot is much faster than resizing art in Photoshop.

One of the most widely used and probably the best known of the screen-grabbing tools is Snapz Pro, now in version 2.0.1, a significant upgrade from version 1. Snapz Pro now enables you to save in TIFF, PNG, and QuickTime (MOV) formats, which you select from the pop-up Snapz palette.

Snapz Pro 2 has obvious benefits for media professionals, technical writers, beta testers and others but it has some neat attributes for gamers, too. Snapz Pro has been designed to take images and record QuickTime movies where other utilities can't.

The most exciting new feature is the ability to capture a QuickTime movie instead of a static image. The feature is a fantastic idea! Do you want to show someone how to do something? Just make a movie of it with Snapz. Voila!

I found the default setting was great because I was already used to it, but the hot keys are customizable if you want to keep the functionality of the built-in utility.
