I have both Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of Michigan. I married my wife Amy in 1994; our son Luke is 4 years old, and our daughter Kaleigh turned 2 in June. We currently live in pleasant Rochester, New York with our cats Shamu and Mocha, but we still plan on moving back to Michigan to be closer to our families. |
| I work for Ambrosia Software, Inc. as a software engineer. My most recent product is ColorSwitch Pro, but I've been working on libraries for several Ambrosia games and utilities. I'm currently pushing a project to beta "any day now", and I'll leak some pictures when they are ready. I've also posted sample code for a fast and accurate MacOS timer called FastTimes, as well as the very old (and unsupported) AppeWin, SysMenu, and other software. | ![]() |

As part of my graduate work, I wrote several documents collectively known as The Matrix. While no longer actively maintained, it's still a valuable learning tool. In addition, I've been adding to a new collection of developer oriented documents, practical tips for entry-level programmers and highly technical discussion for network game designers. I've collected both for your enjoyment, under the colorful title CodeWhore. |
| When I'm not hunched in front of the computer or changing diapers, I keep occupied with a variety of other indulgences -- mostly science fiction. I enjoy reading Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett, Frank Herbert, Orson Scott Card, Dean Koontz, and older Stephen King books. My favorite movies are The Matrix, Gattaca, Terminators 1 and 2, The Princess Bride, and Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Finally, I enjoy listening to Pink Floyd, HappyHead, and Stereo MCs. | ![]() |
